Dry Ice Blasting Services in Ontario
ODIB runs mobile dry ice blasting across Southwestern Ontario. We bring Cold Jet equipment, a diesel compressor, and a trained crew to your facility and clean in-place — no water, no chemicals, no abrasive media, no secondary waste. In many cases, production can resume the same shift once client inspection and sign-off are complete.
Every job starts with a free site review. We walk the work, photograph the surfaces, talk through your timing and safety requirements, and give you a written quote — fixed-price wherever the scope is well-defined, day-rate or time-and-materials when it isn’t.
Services we deliver
Industrial Equipment Cleaning
- Problem: Production lines, presses, conveyors, molds and tooling fouled with grease, carbon, residue or process build-up.
- Why normal cleaning fails: Water shorts equipment and floods floor drains. Solvents leave residue. Abrasive media damages tooling geometry. Manual scrub means dismantling and a lost shift.
- Why dry ice works: Dry CO₂ pellets sublimate on impact — equipment cleans in-place with no water, no chemical, no abrasive, no secondary waste. In many cases, production can resume the same shift once client inspection and sign-off are complete.
- Typical buyer: Plant maintenance manager, plastics or packaging operations manager, food processor, automotive parts manufacturer.

Food & Beverage
- Problem: Carbonized residue on ovens, mixers, conveyors, packaging lines and processing equipment in CFIA-inspected facilities.
- Why normal cleaning fails: Chemical washdown introduces residue and downtime. Water + electrical doesn’t mix. Manual scrubbing is slow and inconsistent.
- Why dry ice works: CFIA-inspected, HACCP-controlled, FDA/USDA-style cleaning method. Dry, non-toxic, no rinse, no chemical residue, no media in the food zone.
- Typical buyer: Food plant operations manager, CFIA-inspected facility quality lead, packaging line manager.

Fire & Smoke Restoration
- Problem: Soot, char and smoke damage on brick, concrete, framing, ductwork and electrical equipment after a structural fire.
- Why normal cleaning fails: Pressure washing drives water into substrates and freezes through winter. Chemical washes stain. Manual scraping damages heritage materials.
- Why dry ice works: Soot lifts off; substrate is not altered. Documentation-ready before/after photos for adjusters and operators.
- Typical buyer: Restoration contractor, insurance adjuster, building owner, heritage property manager.

Marine & Boat Hulls
- Problem: Antifouling paint, growth and gel-coat prep on hulls at the dock.
- Why normal cleaning fails: Haul-out is expensive. Pressure washing puts toxic paint chips in the water. Sandblasting can’t happen near the marina.
- Why dry ice works: Cleans in-place at the dock. No abrasive in the water, no contaminated run-off, no haul-out cost. Works on fibreglass, aluminum and steel hulls.
- Typical buyer: Marina owner, commercial boat operator, yacht owner, dock manager.

Greenhouses & Cannabis
- Problem: Algae, biofilm, mineral scale and growth-medium build-up on racks, benches, irrigation lines and structural steel.
- Why normal cleaning fails: Wet cleaning leaves moisture that drives the next round of mould. Chemical cleaners need long rinse-out before the next crop.
- Why dry ice works: No moisture introduced, no chemical residue, no down-time waiting to dry. Important in already-humid greenhouse environments.
- Typical buyer: Greenhouse operations manager, cannabis facility maintenance lead.

Brick & Masonry Restoration
- Problem: Soot, paint, biological growth, graffiti, or weathering on heritage brick, limestone or concrete.
- Why normal cleaning fails: Sandblasting eats the brick face. Pressure washing drives water deep into mortar. Chemical strippers stain and need rinse.
- Why dry ice works: Non-abrasive — substrate is not altered. No water in the mortar joints. Photographic record at every stage for insurance and heritage compliance.
- Typical buyer: Restoration contractor, heritage building owner, commercial property manager, insurance adjuster.

Automotive & EV Battery Line Cleaning
- Problem: Weld spatter, anti-spatter, slag, oil mist, electrode coating residue and busbar dust on automotive and EV battery assembly lines.
- Why normal cleaning fails: Water shorts energized equipment. Abrasive damages weld tips and tooling. Solvents contaminate ESD-sensitive cells.
- Why dry ice works: Non-conductive, no moisture, no abrasive. Dry process safe around energized and ESD-sensitive equipment when engineering review allows.
- Typical buyer: Plant engineering manager, automotive parts manufacturer, EV battery facility operations lead.

Electrical Equipment
- Problem: Dust, carbon, contamination on transformers, switchgear, MCCs, motors, generators and control panels — a fire, arc-flash and code-compliance risk.
- Why normal cleaning fails: Water shorts. Solvents leave residue. Compressed air just relocates contamination.
- Why dry ice works: Dry, non-conductive, no secondary waste. Energized or de-energized only after engineering review with your qualified electrical lead.
- Typical buyer: Facility engineering manager, electrical maintenance lead, substation operations.

Fin Fan & Heat Exchanger Cleaning
- Problem: Air-side fouling, dust, oil mist and chemical residue on coils, fins and tube bundles — degraded thermal performance.
- Why normal cleaning fails: Wet cleaning floods the bundle and bends fins. Manual brush cleaning is slow and inconsistent.
- Why dry ice works: Restores thermal performance without bending fins or wetting the bundle.
- Typical buyer: Refinery / petrochem maintenance manager, HVAC plant operator, chiller plant lead.

Mould Remediation
- Problem: Surface mould on structural framing, concrete or masonry after a water event or condensation issue.
- Why normal cleaning fails: Wet remediation products add moisture and delay subsequent trades. Encapsulants hide ongoing growth from future inspections.
- Why dry ice works: Mechanical removal of colony and hyphae. No moisture, no encapsulant, no chemical residue. Dry substrate ready for the next trade.
- Typical buyer: Restoration contractor, insurance adjuster, building owner, IICRC-certified hygienist.

How pricing works
Most jobs are quoted after a site review. Pricing depends on contamination level, access, dry-ice usage, equipment required, safety requirements, and work window. For well-defined work, ODIB provides fixed-price quotes. For larger shutdowns or open-ended industrial work, we quote day-rate or time-and-materials with an agreed cap. Every quote includes a certificate of insurance and a clear scope of work — you know what you’re paying for before we mobilize.
